Parents depend on nursery care so that they are able to focus on Sunday and Wednesday services while knowing their children are well cared for. For nursery-aged children (newborn to two-year-olds), our volunteers go through a fingerprinting and background check. Church members who wish to volunteer and be a blessing to parents need to speak with Bethany Broadfield (usually found in the nursery) to get the process started.
Choir and Orchestra
First Baptist Church is committed to traditional, God-exalting music in our ministry. If you have experience in music, with or without formal training, and feel God wants you to use your gifts and abilities to encourage others we would love to give you the opportunity to be part of our music ministry. Please talk to Eric Tindle. Our choir sings regularly on Sunday mornings and prepares an annual Christmas Cantata. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons. Special music rehearsals are arranged to fit the schedules of those involved, with sound-checks at either 8:40 Sunday morning or 5:30 Sunday evening. Instrumentalists that would like to participate in our orchestra or prepare special music for offertories must have at least two years of experience and be able to play in a wide range of keys. Sight reading skills are important to be in the orchestra.
We are looking for help on our Media Team. If you have any special talents with audio/visual equipment or are willing to help out during special weeks like Missions, Revival, Easter, Christmas, and so on, please contact Peter Tindle to see how you can get involved and help.
